Btw I got a news that Versa is working on a new album. They'll be in Australia for SoundWave this March, though. I really dislike the fact they don't make any show in Indonesia before of after their show in Australia. Even tho, I'm a bit glad too because I at least can try to be more focused on final exams and other shits I'll face months later this year.
Oh, You Me At Six concert tomorrow and I'm not going there. I'll just gonna cut my wrist now. Bye.

Review: Year Two-O-Eleven

It's December 30th, only two days left before year 2012. This year has been so great for me, many things happened, I couldn't just forget them since every little thing happened this year has made me become someone (I wish) better than before.

So, let's review this year, start from January 2011.

Not many special things happened in January, except that my class became the Ceremony Flag officers on the last day of January 2011. I was the protocol and was really glad that my voice wasn't heard like a baby--as my friends said.

February 2011, my Saman dance club had to perform for a school event where no one but school officials coming. I hated that time because it was a big struggle for me to practice for the performance (I almost had to skip this because my left foot got injured two weeks before the day.) but no one seemed that excited to watch us. It hurt so bad, honestly. But whatever, because a week later, I was so proud of my juniors that they showed a very good performance of Saman dance for another school event. That was their very first performance, btw.

Go on March 2011, Earth Hour 2011 was held on March 26th when I spent my dark night talking on the phone with my friends Lois. This blog was also closed for a day as I changed the layout onto a special one, thanks Kak Uchie for making the layout!

April 2011! I was finally 17 years old this month! Ahaha. Too many things happened here. Started from how I tried my best to keep on working for an event held by Rohis Metana. How I crashed a surprise plan for my birthday (I'm so sorry, but you guys don't have to be that mad at me, tho.), and how I finally had a gut to ask for permission to go to ARTTM's concert and, voila, I got it!

Also I won't forget my observation trip to the embassy of The Kingdom of Belgium. That was the best one-day observation trip ever because, well, it's worth it to get the best thing after doing so much struggle. So much stress we got while preparing for this but finally, the score we got was excellent.

I could say that May 2011 was the most memorable month of 2011. My bestie, Amelia, gave a late birthday present for me and it's a The Downtown Fiction meet and greet! She got it from Rexona, the main sponsor for the concert and because she gave her ticket for me, I also got a chance to stay in a hotel for three days and meet some new friends who were also the winner of Rexona's contest.

The meet and greet was UBER GREAT! TDF in persons are really nice and funny. I was so glad that they accepted my presents (and even their bassist used a necklace from me for several months). I actually also gave some presents to A Rocket To The Moon. If you watched their video update about Indonesia, there you'd find my batik fedora, the one that Andrew wore on the bus. Well, the concert itself was a big WOW for me. The bands that were playing were so great, I love them all, and the crowd were really crazy. I could just be dead now if I didn't get out from the crowd, the girls were too crazy if it happened to cool and gorgeous band dudes.

June 2011. Final exams, then Tafakur Alam, then holiday! I went to Bandung for a vacation with my close friends. We visited ITB and some more places. Those four days were a great memory for us that made us getting closer until now.

July 2011 started with a new relationship with someone I met at TDF concert last May. A week later, my senior year begun. I almost got Mayday Parade as my last concert (Jakcloth, July 2011) but too bad my dad came to pick me right when the band almost played. Sad Vany was sad.

August 2011, my first time not joining flag ceremony on August 17th. Haha. August was also Ramadhan month, all Moslems had to fasting. Thanked Allah, my Ramadhan was full of blessings :)

September 2011 was really not my month! Panic! At The Disco came here for the second time but again, I couldn't go to their concert because I already made a commitment with my Dad about no concerts until graduation. My life sucks, I know.

October 2011 was sad. The "demissioner" of OSIS Dhira Tasthiva Balavat Kama happened in this month. Marco Simoncelli was dead after a serious accident during Malaysian Grand Prix. Too much tears fell this month.

November 2011. I broke up. Okay that's not a good thing to share. Eid Al-Adha was held this month and I got my tummy fulled by so many foods--even though there's no difference on my weight. Okay.

December 2011. Well, so many events were held this month. BKUI, then final exams. I need to tell ya that even though I don't celebrate Christmas, I still got the best Christmas present ever this year! My Pioneer album arrived right on Christmas and I got a signed letter from The Maine which is lovely.

That's all. Phew. This post need revision, I know. I'll do it next year, okay?

Transjakarta Busway

So I went to Senayan City to meet half of my #PartyKids and to buy some books I need to read during this holiday. Then, I went home by using Transjakarta bus. It's been a really long time since the last time I used this transportation system and when I used it today, I realized there are so many improves they made on this system. Nah, since this post is so Indonesian, I'm going to write it in Bahasa Indonesia ~~(actually it's because I would use some words I dunno in English, lol, enjoy!)~~

Perubahan pertama yang gue liat di sistem bus Transjakarta ini adalah adanya pembagian area antara wanita dan pria. Jadi yang pria harus duduk/berdiri di bagian belakang bis sementara yang wanita (dan anak-anak) duduk/berdiri di bagian depan bis. Nanti di bis nya ada stikernya gini nih:

Tapi sepertinya peraturan ini hanya berlaku di koridor yang mengarah ke Jakarta Pusat dan sekitarnya. Well, tadi sih gue cuma lewat koridor yang dari Senayan-Dutas trus Dutas-Matraman abis itu Matraman-Kp. Melayu. Nah, Senayan sampai Matraman masih berlaku tuh pemisahan antrian. Giliran naik ke arah Kampung Melayu.. Bah! udah ramenya keterlaluan, desek-desekannya lebih parah daripada pas di Dukuh Atas, gaada pemisahan juga. Semua orang, berbeda gender dan usia, kumpul di satu area tanpa ada pemisahan bahkan toleransi untuk yang baru naik.

Lebih parahnya halte Matraman--tepatnya yang di depannya 711 Matraman--ini, orang-orangnya ngga tau harus antri dimana. Well, it might happen in every shelter. Kalo diperhatiin, di setiap halte busway itu ada beberapa pintu yang ditempel stiker ini:

Tadi gue antri di belakang pintu yang ada stiker itu, tapi di belakang gue ada cowok yang asik ngantri sambil sms-an. Kalo di Dukuh Atas sih gue wajar ya, tiga koridor lewat di halte sesempit itu, pasti susah ngatur pembagian laki-laki perempuannya karena jumlahnya pasti gak akan seimbang. Tapi kalo Matraman? Pengen banget gue sindir 'Mas, bisa baca aturannya ngga?'

Perubahan yang kedua, kalo tadi gue perhatiin, sekarang petugas (bisa kita sebut kenek, mungkin?) busnya banyak yang perempuan, ada yang berjilbab juga. Well, bagus lah ya, penyetaraan gender, we could say. Selain 'penyetaraan gender' ini, sekarang petugas Transjakarta juga lebih galak. I swear! Gue ngerasa kayak lagi di MOS jaman baru masuk SMA dulu. Petugasnya itu teriak-teriak ngasih tau harus antri yang rapi lah, ini lah, itu lah, tapi nada teriaknya bener-bener nyuruh ala kakak OSIS lagi nge-MOS.

Tadi di Dukuh Atas ada om petugas yang bilang gini:

'Kalo mau ke Matraman, naik lagi ke atas! Antri dong yang bener! Orang tua aja bisa disuruh antri!'

Wow, dude, wow. Gue sih ga tersinggung ya, soalnya tadi gue emang iseng ke bawah daripada berdiri doang. Cuma kan, ya jangan mentang-mentang Anda udah tua trus jadi seenaknya ngomong gitu ke yang lebih muda dong, Om. Kalo gue jadi orang tua nya sih gue bakal bilang kalo gue antri karena inisiatif gue, bukan karena disuruh orang, apalagi orangnya sambil teriak-teriak ngga santai. Malu dong kalo ngantri aja masih disuruh^^

Terus tadi di Matraman juga mbak-mbak kenek bus nya teriak gini:

`geser ya geser ke dalam! Yang baru masuk langsung geser jangan ngegerombol di depan pintu! Kasih jalan buat yang lain, jangan egois!`

Another wow. Like, WOW. Kalo mau tau, teriakan sama muka mbaknya persis banget sama OSIS angkatan atas sekolah gue. Gue langsung punya pikiran kalo orang yang di-hire untuk kerja di halte bus Transjakarta haruslah orang yang pas jaman sekolah atau kuliah pernah nge-MOS atau nge-OSPEK adek kelasnya. Lebih parahnya, ngediklat capsis (calon pengurus osis) juga. Wow.

Maksud gue.. yaampun om, tante, teriak sih teriak, ngasih tau sih ngasih tau, tapi yang sopan dong. Kita (at least, gue) juga bakal ikutin kata-katanya kalo ngomongnya baik-baik kok. Teriak kan ga berarti jadi kasar gitu. Om tantenya tau kata tolong kan? Tau bedanya ngasih info sama marah-marah kan?

Terakhir nih, tadi pas turun di Halte Kampung Melayu, gelap banget haltenya. Gue kira lagi mati lampu gitu padahal area di sekelilingnya terang benderang. Mungkin karena haltenya sekarang jadi gede ya, lampu yang nyala cuma yang di halte baru.

Iya, halte Kampung Melayu diperbesar karena koridor yang baru, yang lewat kantor walikota Jakarta Timur itu, berhentinya di Kampung Melayu. Kapan-kapan ada yang mau nyobain naik busway koridor baru? Sama gue yuk yuk yuk!

Well, okay, akhir dari post ini adalah, saya cuma pengen ngasih tau kalo saya seneng banget sama sistem bus Transjakarta ini, saya pengen bisa naik bus Transjakarta kemana-mana, saya pengen sistemnya tuh jadi teratur, rapi, enak di kita dan di yang punya perusahaan juga. Nah, untuk itu, kita ngga bisa cuma protes dan nyuruh orang Transjakartanya melakukan perbaikan dan perubahan doang kan. Kita juga harus taati peraturan yang mereka berikan, supaya semuanya tertib, bagus, enak dilihat, bisa dibanggain, dan tujuan untuk me-anti-macet-kan Jakarta itu bisa tercapai. Kalau ngga mulai dari kita sendiri, kitanya cuma protes doang, ngga bakal ada perubahan. Jadi nih semuanya, stiker di halte sama di bus dibaca baik-baik trus diikutin ya. Trus antri sendiri jangan nunggu om tante petugasnya teriak-teriak. Masuk busnya pelan-pelan, jangan dorong-dorongan, langsung cari tempat yang kosong dan sesuai pemisahannya. Kalau kita bisa begitu, Transjakarta ngga bakal kalah elite sama sistem transportasi di luar negeri loh! :)

Bedah Kampus UI 2011

Hi, long time no see!
It's been busy month last November and I think we'll be more busy this early December since Final Exams will be started next Thursday. Well, anyway, before struggling hard for exams, there's an event held by BEM University of Indonesia named Bedah Kampus Universitas Indonesia 2011 or BKUI2011. As well as there are so many senior students who still can't decide where are they going to study, this event showed all faculties UI has and everyone could ask everything about every faculties so they can finally decide what to study, where to go study.

I bought a ticket for two days (3rd and 4th of December) pass and went to Balairung UI, Depok with my nine friends (although two of them couldn't join us on the second day :/). We did so many things there, like going around UI with Bikun (Bis Kuning, a yellow bus for transportation around campus of UI) and joining an open house at Fasilkom (Fakultas Ilmu Komputer, Faculty of Computer Science)--well that were on day #1. On the second day, which was today, we stayed at Balairung to visit some booths of faculties. Me personally went to booth of Fasilkom, Dutch literature, Javanese literature, Communication, Criminology, Computer engineering, Accounting and Geography. I got my name written in Java script, Bali script and Sunda script at Javanese literature booth and that all are so cute :3

Before going to the booths, we all were going to a battle zone outside Balairung. That's actually a place for us to take do some photo shoots with the mascot, and play some games to win prizes (even just bookmarks and stickers, well, whatever.). But, in the middle of the area, there's a tree with so many papers with wishes glued there. We could write our wishes--mostly about to go to a faculty we want--and put the paper on the branches. Here's mine:

I can't make a good report about this event since I didn't really stay at the venue for all rundowns, so all I could say about this event is just that I'm so happy to go there, to be with my friends, to meet some old friends, to know more about the faculties and universities and more and more and more. This event should be held every year and I hope, you all guys who want to go to UI, can be participated by showing 'Hi, I'm a student of this faculty in University of Indonesia.' Amen! :D

I just finished reading a novel last night. A very-berry good novel I'm sure I should recommend it to all of you (especially those Moslems out there). So now, I'm going to make a review in Bahasa Indonesia (since this book is in Bahasa Indonesia and--uhm--I am not sure I can write a good review in English eheh). Hope you enjoy this post! :)

Diceritakan seorang gadis kecil berumur enam tahun yang aktif, polos, berhati tulus dan penuh keingintahuan. Namanya Delisa, bungsu dari pasangan Ummi Salamah dan Abi Usman. Anak itu sedang berusaha menghafalkan bacaan-bacaan shalat--selalu diulanginya setiap saat walaupun sulit, lupa lagi, lupa lagi. Namun ketiga kakaknya, Cut Fatimah, Cut Zahra dan Cut Aisyah ikut membantu dan menyemangati sang adik.

Delisa dan keluarganya tinggal di Lhok Nga, Aceh. Ayahnya bekerja di kapal tanker, pulang setiap tiga bulan. Ibunya bekerja di rumah, menjahit atau menyulam pesanan tetangga. Setiap hari, para perempuan itu bangun pagi dan shalat subuh berjamaah. Aisyah membaca bacaan shalat dikeraskan agar Delisa dapat mengikuti. Lalu, mereka tadarus.

Delisa diimingi berbagai hadiah demi kesuksesannya menghafal bacaan shalat. Ia sudah dibelikan kalung oleh ibunya, dengan bandul D--D untuk Delisa. Ayahnya menjanjikan ia sepeda baru saat mereka bicara di telepon. Ustadnya, Ustad Rahman, memang sering memberi hadiah setiap Delisa melakukan sesuatu. Semua hadiah itu akan Delisa dapatkan bila ia lulus hafalan bacaan shalat dengan Ibu Guru Nur.

Tanggal 26 Desember 2004 memang bertepatan dengan kejadian Tsunami yang menghancurkan bagian utara Sumatera. Tapi hari itu juga adalah hari Delisa akan membuktikan bahwa ia sudah hafal semua bacaan shalat. Hari Minggu itu, Delisa pergi dengan Ummi ke sekolah seraya Aisyah dan Zahra menempelkan karton-karton biru penuh tulisan untuk Delisa--mungkin untuk penyemangat. Sementara, di benak Delisa terkadang muncul hadiah-hadiah yang ia akan dapatkan nantinya. Ia nervous, namun ia berusaha untuk tidak lupa dan mempresentasikan hasil hafalannya dengan baik.

Baru saja membaca doa iftitah, tiba-tiba bumi berguncang. Gempa besar terjadi. Namun Delisa tetap melanjutkan bacaannya. Ia ingin khusuk, ingin satu pikiran saat shalat, tidak memedulikan hal yang lain di luar shalat, seperti kata Ustad. Ummi sudah berteriak saat gempa, namun Delisa menghiraukannya. Ibu Guru Nur pun tak berpindah tempat melihat Delisa yang tetap diam melanjutkan bacaannya.

Saat sampai membaca Surah Al-Fatihah, tsunami itu datang. Kencang sekali. Menghantam semua yang ada di depannya. Namun Delisa tidak bergeming. Bahkan saat ia hampir tenggelam, yang ada di pikirannya hanyalah bacaan shalat yang belum selesai. Namun Delisa keburu pingsan karena menelan banyak air. Kaki dan tangannya patah dan luka terhantam balok dan apapun itu. Sebelum Ibu Guru Nur pergi, beliau mengikatkan kerudungnya pada Delisa dan sebatang papan dengan harapan Delisa selamat dan tetap dapat melanjutkan bacaan shalatnya.

Delisa terhempas ke semak-semak sejauh enam kilometer dari sekolahnya. Delisa pingsan selama enam hari. Tangannya patah, kakinya luka parah tak bisa diselamatkan. Kerudung dan pakaiannya robek tak berbentuk. Badannya penuh luka dan lebam. Di dekat Delisa, ada mayat Tiur, teman main sepedanya, yang tergeletak begitu saja dengan mata terbuka. Delisa sempat bolak-balik pingsan-siuman beberapa kali. Entah darimana, ada lima apel berjejer di dekatnya, bisa dimakan. Ia minum air hujan yang turun tiap malam. Namun tetap saja, tubuh Delisa yang kecil tidak kuat dengan kondisi panas terik dan hujan yang datang bergantian. Delisa tidak tahu apa-apa lagi hingga akhirnya ia diselamatkan oleh seorang tentara asing. Hingga ia bertemu dengan teman-teman baru. Hingga ia dapat bertemu lagi dengan Abinya, melanjutkan hidup berdua. Hingga ia terus berusaha menikmati hidup dengan ceria walaupun sekarang tubuhnya cacat dan tidak punya siapa-siapa kecuali Abi dan teman-teman barunya. Lalu bagaimana hafalan shalatnya?

Novel karya Tere Liye ~~(yang ternyata laki-laki, oke, gue kira dia cewek, oke, maap om)~~ ini benar-benar menguras air mata. Gue baru baca pas istirahat di SQ sekitar 65 halaman. Lalu ngelanjutin di rumah dari jam setengah 10, hingga buku itu tamat pada pukul 11.30 malam, jujur aja gue gabisa berenti nangis sepanjang membaca 200 halaman, menghabiskan sisa persediaan tissue di kamar. Buku ini adalah sebuah renungan bagi siapa pun yang membacanya. Di kemas dengan bahasa sehari-hari yang ringan sehingga mudah dimengerti oleh siapa saja, bahwa hidup Delisa tidak mudah. Ia menghadapi berbagai tantangan yang sulit. Namun tetap saja ia menjalani hidup seperti tidak ada beban. Bila ada kesalahan, ia cepat memperbaiki dan belajar untuk tidak mengulanginya lagi.

Sebetulnya, yang lebih bikin nangis itu catatan kaki yang di buat pengarang tentang sikap atau kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh Delisa. Misalnya nih, pas Delisa bangun dari pingsan lalu melihat mayat temannya tergeletak begitu saja di depannya. Kalau kita bacanya sungguh-sungguh pasti langsung serem kan kalo dibayangin? Udah serem, trus ada catatan kakinya: "Delisa baru 6 tahun tapi sudah harus melihat yang seperti itu, bagaimana dengan orang-orang berdosa di luar sana yang masih bisa berhura-hura saat banyak saudaranya tertimpa bencana memilukan" (yah kurang lebih seperti itu). Allahuakbar, Vany berasa lagi muhasabah kayak pas tafakur alam! Langsung deh banjir air mata lagi di situ. Oke, mari sudahi cerita air matanya.

Udah kan tuh yang bagus-bagusnya. Bisa untuk renungan, ceritanya mudah di cerna, bahasanya gampang dimengerti, dan oh, Delisa ini benar-benar tipikal anak baru masuk SD. Pas banget untuk anak-anak yang biar rajin shalat, kasih aja buku ini, biar jadi pelajaran juga mengenai keimanan, ketaatan, kasih sayang, kedisiplinan, ketulusan dan sikap toleransi beragama.^^

Tapi jujur, personally, gue ngga terlalu suka cerita yang banyak kalimat di dalam kurungnya. Nah, di novel ini banyak kalimat yang ada di dalam kurung. Kenapa ngga dijelasin aja di kalimat selanjutnya? Biar lebih rapi gitu loh. Hal ini jadi satu minus buat gue. Namun, minusnya ini tertutup banget sama kebagusan novel yang udah disebutin di atas.

Sekilas tentang Tere Liye ~~(yang aslinya ternyata cowok)~~, beliau ini adalah penulis novel-novel yang bersifat religius. Gue baru baca ini doang sih, ada satu lagi buku beliau di perpustakaan ~~(ketauan bacanya modal minjem perpus)~~ tapi lagi dipinjam orang. Tadi buka multiply-nya juga, banyak foto-foto yang bagus. Mungkin om Tere Liye ini juga seorang fotografer ya. Yang pasti, novelnya yang ini amat sangat wajar kalau sampai dicetak berkali-kali dan best seller.

Tertarik? Coba cari di perpustakaan sekolah kamu, atau beli sendiri biar bisa disimpen untuk saat-saat yang dibutuhkan ;)

Ps. Delisa bisa bilang ke Ummi dan Abinya kalo dia cinta mereka karena Allah. Walaupun cuma demi coklat, tapi ucapannya tulus sampai orang tuanya nangis. Ada yang bisa begitu juga? Gue.. jujur aja.. ngga.. *malu* :"""

Proud Mom

Hi.

I only have 30 minutes left to do all the things I should do before going bed at 10 and try to be as fresh as I can to face the weekdays. So, let's get this thing done ;)

So I have this hydroponic project for my PLH class. (PLH means "Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup" in Bahasa Indonesia so maybe we can say it as "Environment Education" but it sounds weird for me, uhm.)

My group chose to plant tomatoes so we use cocopeat as it's planting medium. We started the hydroponic method Friday last week and last Friday, we already put them to the polybags.

I found out that those baby plants are so cute and beautiful. My teacher said that growing plants is like growing children so we have to be good parents to them. By that, I felt like a proud mom when I saw those babies came out from the plastic they used to be covered with.

Anyway, we had to choose four of eight baby plants we planted last week to be moved to the polybags. I'll show you the picture later, so you'll know that each four of them has a beautiful name: Tobey, Tommy, Timmy and Tiffany. I just can't wait 'til they grow up and produce the fruits :)

Once I'm done with this project, I'll tell you how to plant with hydroponics method, don't worry ;)

Going to the next topic, I went to Meet Me By Sunrise's EP release party yesterday with Nurin, Fia and Kanya. The bad thing was, I came late because of the traffic jam and I was really hungry at the time so I couldn't handle my emotion (I can be an ass if I couldn't find anything to eat when I'm really hungry), I screwed up myself and made my friends worried. But out of that thing, everything was great. Really, I did enjoy the show even just a little.

Oops, 10 pm already, I gotta go now! Sorry for the bad post, I prolly gonna edit some things here tomorrow! :D

Lovely Chilly Saturday

Hi.

I got new haircut today. I was so sick of having very long bangs and the weather nowadays (even though today was a chilly one. I love today's weather!) made me want to cut my hair shorter. So that's me with my new hair, how do ya think? Yeah, ~~I'm so ugly though (el-oh-el)~~ but whatever, my hair looks great, eh? ;)

How are you all, people?
School somehow has screwed me up with all homework and quizzes the teachers gave us. Thank God I only have one quiz left on Monday and a remedial for my first physics quiz on Tuesday. Well, I can't be that relax this weekend since I gotta do some athletic stuffs tomorrow morning then spend my Saturday night studying chemistry for Monday's quiz.

Oh God, help me. I don't know that senior year will be this hard. Urgh.

Anyway,
I was planning to show you Alenda's super cool cracking nail polish from OPI, I used it yesterday and I love it so much when I combined the cracking nail polish with my own sparkling nail polish I have used before.
But, I just don't feel it right to share my nails arts since--dammit--~~I have to admit that I have 10 fat ugly fingers~~. I'm really not going to share a picture of my fingers which I'm sure you guys will mock me about those. So, no, I'm not going to share any pictures today. lol.

Let's go to something more serious.
You all already know that I'm living my senior year life right now. Not only about how I have to change my whole routine--I should be getting used with quizzes and homework and task and courses everyday, but I also have to think about where I will go after graduation. Will I go to university or no? Which university I will go to? Will I go to state university, the private one, or will I even go to study abroad? The more important thing is... what majors I'd like to learn? I still have no idea about those things while almost all my friends are so sure about their future later.

If I was writing this post in bahasa Indonesia, I'd have told you that 'gue lagi galau banget sekarang tentang beginian'. I don't even know how to say that in English ahah. I've asked some friends about studying abroad but.. that's it--Galau Vany is galau..

Any of you guys can help me about how to prepare for my future? I really need a help =.=

A Little Update Before School Starts Tomorrow

Ohai!
First of all, since it's only a week after Eid Mubarak, I'd like to say `Happy Eid Mubarak` to all of you who celebrated it. Please forgive all mistakes I've done here, on my old blogs or anywhere else. And I'd like to wish us to be a better person after this :)

Now, we're going to the main topic.
Well, urgh, school starts tomorrow. So that means I'll be going back to the routines where I wake up at 4.30 am and go to bed at 11.00 pm everyday. I'll be filling my days with tasks and homework and books and exercises. Courses everyday, quizzes every week.. I wish this senior year will end so fast.
So by that, I'm really going to do my promise to keep my laptop away from me on weekdays so I won't be online unless I have tasks to be done on the net. That means, it will be harder for me to keep updating this blog--I'm trying my best tho. I just hope all my readers won't leave me alone here, if I really have some readers mwhoho.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, MY BELOVED INDONESIA!!!!!!!!

Hell, Even though many things are so messed up here, I just can't leave a single thought about this country. This is where I was born, meet a great friends and family. This country is where I feel accepted with most lovable people I ever known.
I just hope everything here will get better. Better government, better civilians, better education system, and else. I hope there'll be no more corruptors live peacefully (they never will, though) and so on. Amen for all your wishes to Indonesia!

I'm just done making new layout for this blog. At first I was planning to make a layout purely by my own but I found it really hard 'til I almost gave up, so I tried to find a layout on blogskins that has same purpose as I wanted my layout to be.

I'm so in love with this layout especially about the background color and the picture of header and footer. Do you like that one too? Or do you even have any plans to visit one of those famous trademarks? Let me know so maybe we can plan a trip together someday ;)

A little update about my real life lately, I'm currently on daily quizzes week where there's at least one quiz per day and that really sucks. Fortunately tomorrow is a holiday (tomorrow is August 17th, Indonesia Independence Day, Wooo!!) so I at least have some hours to relax before going back to study maths for linear-thingy quiz on Thursday.

A Wonderful Trip To Monumen Nasional

Like I told you guys yesterday, I'm gonna share my first trip ever to Monumen Nasional a.k.a Monas last Tuesday, June 21st 2011. It was really amazing that my friends were agreed to help me reaching this dream to go to Monas. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I've never been to Monas before. Kinda ashamed but, that's me. Living in Jakarta for 17 years but never been to that iconic place of Jakarta.

Back to the story, I went to Monas with Icha, Aviriga Septa and Faqih. At first we planned, we supposed to go to Monas first, have fun there then go to Ragusa and eat everything there. But since we met up late, so we went there late. We changed the plan as we went to Istiqlal Mosque so the guys could pray first, then go to Ragusa because we all were pretty hungry then go to Monas in the end.

That's me, Septa and Icha in front of Ragusa! We ate Asinan, chicken satay and some scoops of ice cream. I ate Chocolate Sundae which tastes like heaven.

That's not really far to walk from Ragusa to Monas. We did about 15 minutes or more walk to Monas. Once I went inside the Monas area, I was like 'Oh my God, this is my first time!' as my friends all were just laughing at me.

Unlucky me, we were late to come to Monas because it's already 4 pm so it's closed already. That's almost okay for me, because all I wanted was to go to Monas, see it closer, and meet the cutie deer.

Yup, I pouted to Icha that I really want to see those deer in Monas but Icha said there are no deer in Monas. I was really sad as I finally saw this cutie baby:

Yes pipol, I met this cutie deer! The deer in Monas were actually placed inside fences, the visitors shouldn't feed them but some people still buy some fried bananas for them. I actually feel it's okay since the deer live in rocky land and they looked hungry at all.

4.30 pm and my guys hadn't prayed Ashar yet so I needed to say goodbye to Deer and went outside Monas area.

I tell ya, we went by busway for this trip and went home using Taxi. Thanks to Faqih's daddy who're really kind to give his silly son some money for us to get home^^

It was really a wonderful trip, I was beyond happy last Tuesday and I couldn't thank everyone enough for keeping me company on this trip. I can't wait for another holiday to go to some place I've never been to before and explore more good things in Jakarta ~~(ps. I've never been to Jakarta Fair too~~ lol laugh at me, peeps). See you on another trip!

Holiday has started from last Monday even though I just got my report card today. We won't talk about my report because I didn't go to school today due to my nice dream I couldn't just leave.

Anyway.
I tried to have a quality holiday since this could be my last holiday before being in Senior Year next month. So I spend my days lately by registering my bimbel on Monday, going to MONAS on Tuesday (blog post later after this ;)), and, until this Thursday, I'm painting. Yup.
I got an empty canvas from Ridwan, we supposed to use it for the observation to Embassy last April but it's finally being on my own. So I tried to draw something and paint the canvas. Just take a look, peeps:

One Week Holiday Recap

#1 Monday: Cleaned my room. It stayed clean until 2 days ago. Record.
#2 Tuesday: I finally decided to not join the dance group for seniors' event (I dunno whats that in English)
#3 Wednesday: Baking oreo crunch cookies. Nyum :9
#4 Thursday: Busy busy busy. Did the registration for Saman competition at 53 Highschool and found out that the competition date is as same as Tafakur Alam schedule. Damn that, yes. But I was happy that my juniors practiced really well for they performance this Saturday.
#5 Friday: PARTYYYY! Nurin was in the town so we held a little party at her hotel. We're swimming (well, only Kak Uta, Nurin and Fira) and having so much fun. I really can't wait until Nurin moves here and goes to the same school as mine
#6 Saturday: Another party with my girls: Revi, Alvina, Maya, Dita and Illa. Alvina was the birthday girl so we kinda celebrate her birthday at Pancious, Senayan City.
#7 Sunday: FBI eksternal loketa. I'm such a bad crew so I did things that actually not really important. My bad that I went out early because we're gonna celebrate my Grandpa's birthday (which happened on April 4th) and my early birthday. I brought my math homework and let my cousin Sekar to do it. I really wish her for a great good luck for her national final exams because she's really a good kid, ahem.

Myself and this blog are supporting Earth Hour 2011 which happens today, March 26th 2011 starts from 8.30 pm until 9.30 pm.

I really hope you to support this action too by switching off the lights on your house and do something that ain't needs electricity to do it. Or at least you can try wireless stuffs while doing something so you don't have to load more electricity to your house :)

I was on a hard week, actually hard weekend again. This week had a good start with no school on Monday and so I could join a super-crowded FTSK live-status-comments-chat on facebook and listening to an interview Cameron Leahy did on a radio.

Tuesday and wednesday were good enough but I was kind of tired since I did study a lot for my math quiz on Friday.

Speaking of math quiz.. Err.. I don't know. I've studied so hard but I was really sure I'd fail t even before I knew the question. Oh math, why don't you solve your own problem? :O

Anyway, today was great so far. I played old FOE game called Where In The World I s Cobra Starship. I lost my old username so I started it over again. Then I found two other games, one is Mystery At Decaydance High (featuring The Ready Set and all Decaydance artists :D) and the other one it The Ocarina of Glamour Kills Tour Game.

This is the best game on FOE, seriously. On that game, you're playing as Jordan of The Ready Set. You have to save all GK tour's line up who are kidnapped by sexy vampire (edward cullen is really the most disgusting one), kiddos from hogwarts and snooki of Jersey Shore. And if you live in the US, you can get a chance to win some prizes they have for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranks.I really wish I lived in The States now.

Anyway, another cool thing today was a live streaming chat I did with JC Charles of Aim For The Weekend (you should follow them on twitter, like their facebook page and add their myspace!)

I showed him my AFTW bracelet and he said it's awesome. Kak Ayutta should've shipped some of the bracelets to VA so we can wear the same bracelet :D

JC looks really happy, yes? :p

Two things that still bothering my mind are about TDF-ARTTM-HM concert tix that will be sold next week and my ATL notebook that hasn't arrived yet. I'm really worried about these even I already forgot about my math quiz... Alright.

When a hard week comes to you, you'll realize many things to be learned. I was on a hard week for this time and this made me learned that:

Physics and I will never be together. We really do hate each other. Blame those formulas, numbers, and my teacher to make it worse.
A broken-hearted girl is a wild one. I honestly became so wild like a PMS babe when I found something about a man I really love, and it really hurt me until... well yea I won't tell you anything.
Money is everything for life now. Moneys are hard to get. Saving moneys for your own good is harder to do.
I have a weak body. I only went to my course under the rain for 5 minutes but now I got influenza.
When you're down, you have to know that your problem is nothing. There are many people who have worse problem than yours. You have to stop blaming yourself and everything and start to feel blessed for what God has given to you.

And for the last..

I am really tired now, I'm kind of sleepy but just can't shut my eyes and go to dreamland. I think I'm going to turn into a bat girl or something since I never slept before 11 pm.

Physics quiz on Monday as Bahasa quiz follows at the afternoon. No school on Tuesday but I have to go badminton in the morning. Math clinic about limits on Wed and Thu because I'll have math quiz on Friday. Before that, I have religion test on Friday morning.

Thispost will be written in Bahasa Indonesia. This caused by my lack English right now. Well anyway..

I'm on dilemma.

Gue. Lagi. Dilema.

Jadi gini ceritanya.

Gue ngerti yang namanya hidup itu harus pake pilihan. Pilihan itu kadang-kadang cuma 'Ya' atau 'Tidak'. Nah, buat gue, pilihan itu ada banyak. Bisa aja awalnya cuma 'mau' atau 'nggak'. Tapi lama-lama dari satu pilihan 'ya' atau 'tidak' itu bisa berkembang lagi ke pilihan-pilihan lainnya. Itulah otak gue yang sok bisa mikir banyak-banyak. Tiba-tiba langsung aja dateng banyak pilihan ke gue. Ujung-ujungnya gue jadi pusing sendiri.

Sekarang ke permasalahannya.

Pernah waktu itu bokap gue lagi berbaik hati ngebolehin gue backpacking ke Eropa pas lulus SMA. Beh, seneng dong? Gue bisa liburan dulu, bisa cari pengalaman dulu baru masuk kuliah belajar lagi. Lagipula, hal yang lo pelajarin waktu travelling bakal lebih banyak, lebih mudah dimengerti dan lebih berarti daripada lo duduk belajar di kelas. Otomatis gue iya-in lah.

Tapi terus bokap bilang `kalo gitu cari uang dari sekarang, cari link buat 'numpang', kalo mau cari temen berangkat bareng atau berangkat aja sendiri.` Duh?

Gue rasa ini nggak mungkin.

Sekolah gue adalah model sekolah yang seneng 'nyimpen' anak muridnya lama-lama di sekolah. Belom termasuk tugas seabrek, ulangan, dan kewajiban bimbel untuk anak dengan otak pas-pasan macem gue. Waktu gue selama seminggu habis untuk sekolah. Begitupun duit jajan gue yang--ahem, ngga tralu banyak. Dan di Indonesia--tepatnya di daerah rumah gue, dimana ada part-time job untuk anak SMA?

Kalo nyari link sih ya gampang, udah banyak kok forum-forum backpacker. Tinggal betulin cara komunikasi, ngomong baik-baik, insya Allah bisa diterima. Tapi duitnya ituloooh. Masa iya gue yang pergi sendiri bokap gue yang ngebayarin segala macem? Ga lucu kan?

Selain itu, gue punya firasat kalo masuk kuliah pas jaman gue dan seterusnya bakal lebih sulit dari sekarang. Kalo misalnya gue jalan-jalan dulu, dan tetep pengen masuk PTN, agaknya itu sulit. Kecuali ya gue pengen kuliah di luar dimana itu juga ngga gampang. Yah, pokoknya ada more and less nya deh.

Nah, gimana gue ga dilema?

Ujungnya sih, setelah mikir-mikir, gue udah bikin 3 pilihan pasti yang harus cepet gue putusin. Walaupun yah, sampe sekarang gue masih bingung. Dua pilihan itu adalah:

1. Backpacking abis lulus dengan pinjam duit papa tersayang. Stay disana cari kuliah atau pulang ke Indonesia belajar lagi super keras buat masuk PTN. (Begini ceritanya, gue harus bawa buku juga sambil backpacking. Gimana nyari kuliah kalo udah lupa pelajaran sekolah?)

atau

2. Kuliah dulu di Indonesia, sambil kuliah sambil kerja sambilan. Waktu libur semester pergi backpacking tapi ngga langsung satu benua. (Berarti gue harus pinter bagi waktu antara kuliah, belajar dan kerja. Dan gue bakal jarang pulang ke rumah pas lagi libur. Berarti gue bakal jarang ketemu kamar--tepatnya kasur--asli gue.)

atau

3. Gue kuliah di luar, pas libur ngga balik ke Indonesia tapi jalan-jalan ke negara sekitarnya (eh wait, emang gue mau kuliah dimana?)

Udah ada 3 pilihan, tapi masih banyak dilemanya. Menurut lo, enakan gimana ya? :|

Oh anyway, ada lomba blog dari Canada Education Services International. Ikutan ga ya? Ada yang ikut kah?

How Old Am I, Really?

It's first day of school and we had to attend a flag ceremony before going to class. Right when I arrived at my row, Filzah gave me that meeting invitation from my Rohis leader, Faishal. There's nothing special about the invitation, though. But that pink marker he used and that <3 sign beside his name, I wonder what he was thinking while making the invitation. He was such a sweetheart (in Indonesian I said him as an 'unyu' boy lol), haha, I mean it. Well, by that 'unyu' invitation, I'll ask my Tatra leader so I can join both Saman practice and Rohis meeting tomorrow.

Anyway,

Something has been stuck on my head through this day. Well, I know I shouldn't keep that on mind but it's just coming and coming. To make it worse, my friends were talking about the same thing all the 2nd break time. I couldn't stop thinking about that as I made a little survey at twitter, and seemed like everyone was agreed with my friends. Damn, why does the world hate me?

SAYA yang baru kamu kenal beberapa minggu lalu emang bocah. Suara saya cempreng, badan saya kecil, muka saya bocah, kelakuan saya kayak anak kecil. Pantas, walaupun kita belum pernah ketemu, kamu bilang saya kayak anak SMP. Kamu bilang saya mukanya childish. Kamu bilang saya kayak masih kelas 9..

SAYA yang suaranya emang melengking ini tiba-tiba tadi diprotes sama temen-temen main saya. Katanya suara saya cempreng banget, suara saya kayak anak SD, kayak anak TK malah. Katanya saya nggak kayak anak 16 tahun, katanya saya kayak anak SMP. Sama kayak yang kamu bilang.

Kata temen-temen saya, suara saya harus direndahin lagi. Tapi saya ngga bisa, saya ngga tau caranya gimana. Suara saya emang begini dari dulu masih unyil..

AKHIRNYA saya ngambek kan.. saya kabur ke Icha. Icha bilang saya biasa aja, ya kayak anak seumuran saya. Tapi ternyata dia ngga tau kalo saya udah mau 17 taun.. dia kira saya sama kayak dia yang taun ini baru mau 16. Aduh, miris deh jadi Vany. Yang sabar ya Van.

Pulang sekolah, saya kepikiran gitu.. saya buka twitter terus saya update begini:

Setelah nunggu sambil msn-an dan tumblr-an, akhirnya ada respon tuh. Kamu mau tau hasilnya? Ngenes deh sumpah. Cuma lima orang yang jawab. Tapi cuma satu dari mereka yang bilang kalo tampang saya sesuai umur. Sisanya? Pada bilang gini:

"Emang lo kelas berapa? Gue kira kelas 9 wkwkwk"

"Ngga ngira taun ini Vany mau dapet KTP..."

"Aku kira kamu baru mau 16, Van.."

OKE ya, oke banget. Saya sih tabah aja. Mungkin malah harus alhamdulillah kali ya, ~~berarti saya awet muda~~ (amin Ya Allah, amiin).

Tapi, apakah segitu bocahnya saya? Apakah segitu keliatannya kalo saya kayak anak kecil? Apa saya emang ngga bersikap kayak 16 taun?

SEBETULNYA, bukan itu masalah saya. Saya tabah, beneran deh, saya tabah banget orang-orang bilang apa tentang saya. Saya iya-iya aja deh, toh berarti mereka anggep saya ada.

Tapi, lagi, bukan itu masalahnya.

MASALAHNYA adalah... saya kepikiran kamu. Saya inget kamu. Saya mikir kenapa orang-orang sama pikirannya kayak kamu. Saya jadi pengen ngobrol lagi sama kamu. Saya jadi galau. Saya..... jadi ngerasa gaul. Duh?

Happy New Year!!!

This is my first post in 2011, my first post after that ICT task last semester, my first post talking as Vany Naura and--damn--my last post before school starts tomorrow.
Yes. School starts tomorrow. Sucks? I know.

Anyway, I was going to post some 2010 memories I had with everyone, but, hey, it's 2011 already! I'm now going to start a new life, I better one, I hope. And with the expectation of better life, I did make some resolutions and wishes. Let's see the wishes and resolutions and see if I can make them this year :)

#2011wishes:

Naik kelas >> Lol I dunno what's this in english. But seeing my score last semester, I didn't say I won't pass this grade. To be clearer, I want to pass this grade with a good score. At least no 75 or C scores at my report. Amen.
A better relationship >> ~~I want a boyfriend.~~ LOL NO. The relationship here is about my family, my friends, my besties, with other fans, with the musicians, well yeah okay it's also about boyfriend or what's that you call. I just don't want myself to ruin everything ever again. I have to control my mood, my emotions, my feelings and everything so I won't get into any problem.
Meet TDF, ARTTM and HeyMonday >> Alright. I did tell you that I'm not in the mood anymore to meet them. But what if I could get a chance to meet them? I'm really really looking forward to get that chance, only if God loves me that much..
iTouch >> Enough said, I want the new generation of iTouch. My life is complete after then.
A router >> This is something my dad always told he would do, but he never done that until I'm writing this post. He said he wanna set a rooter at our house but he even hasn't bought the rooter yet. How much I love you, Daddy -__-

#2011resolutions:

Pray in early time, read Quran everyday, wear jilbab nicely.
Read more books, less internet connection
Saving money for rainy days (which is for iTouch, concert tix, merchandises and albums, and for backpacking stuffs)
Do my best for street team stuffs
Be tidier, be cleaner, be more diligent.

I Am Just Getting Enough Of Expecting To Much

This coming 2011.

I should never expect to meet the boys and a girl on May 14th.
I should never demand anyone to make me meet they who I've been waiting for.
I should never assume I would have fun with people I fangirling to.

I should know my limits that no more concerts until graduation.
I should know my role, I'm not good enough to be such a fan of bands.
I should know where I stand, that's on my own room doing anything not related to band dudes.

I won't get affected by people who will go to the venue on that Saturday.
I won't get jealous to my girlfriends who will hang out with the boys.
I won't get paranoid that my life will end after the concert, the time when people will talk about them again and again, leaving me behind because I don't know anything would happen on the venue.

I'll just be happy because I know I'll try my best to not being fucking sad and effing crazy because I won't in for everything about 2nd week of May 2011.
I'm just not in the mood anymore, for this time. This could change, I wish so.

I'm just really sorry for this. This is not me, I know. But I'm tired of being me, me as a fan of many bands. Sorry :/

The ICT task is thanked-God-finally done and now this blog is totally mine. No one can ever "force" me to make a blog layout and posts that I don't like. Free Vany is free, ha.
Anyway, since this blog was planned to be published next year, I won't do anything online on this blog. I'm working on the new layout, though. I finally got the html codes which I thought matches with the header I'm going to use. Right now, just let's hope I won't be such a procrastinator so I can finish everything before December 31st.
I'm going to Bali and Jogjakarta for studytour stuffs for a week so I will be off from 17th-23rd. Then Christmas and new year, this seems gonna be so fast. But, as usual, no one wants holidays to end, right?
I'm watching a recorded secret show of The Maine and Disco Curtis but the main band is not showing up yet. I hate waiting, duh.

Ina-TEWS, The Indonesia Tsunami Early Warning System

Since there were some disasters happened in Indonesia, I'm sure everyone is now more concern about everything around them and about their beloved country, Indonesia. Instead of doing something after the disaster happened, we definitely prefer to get warned before it happened. That's why I was searching for some disaster warning system and got some information about Ina-TEWS a.k.a Indonesia Tsunami Early Warning System.

Taken from Pasifik Satelit Nusantara's website, they designed Ina-TEWS which is an advanced, comprehensive public outdoor warning management system suitable for a broad range of applications. It is highly flexible and capable to manage from small community warning system up to a large scale, integrated regional or national warning system. Ina-TEWS provides all necessary functions to maintain a secure, responsive and reliable public warning system capable to disseminate high priority warnings rapidly.

Physically, Indonesia started to built this technology on 2006 and planned to have 160 broadband seismometers and 500 seismometers, 40 GPS, 80 tide gauges and 23 dart-buoy. Until October 2008, there have been 116 units of seismometers, 45 units of tide gauges and 3 units of buoy which are operating now. This technology also completed by Indonesia Database of Pre-calculated Tsunami Model which taken from places guessed as tsunami potential. There is also a Decision Support System that collected all information from the monitoring system, tsunami simulation and crustal deformation from the earth after an earthquake happened. From the monitoring system, the DSS offers the type of news or an early warning to be taken by the operator at the specified time through Graphic User Interface (GUI). The spread of early warning information through email, SMS, fax, website and alarms so people can get information about tsunami prediction right five minutes after an earthquake happened.

This is about a new way to blogging, to share your interest with people and to find your true friends on the net. This is called Tumblr.

Found on 2007 by a ~~handsome-and-attractive~~ man named David Karp, Tumblr is your new way to blog. It's easy and let you to post everything without any problem. You can post picture, words, quotes, links, songs/sounds, videos and conversation. You even can reblog your friends' posts and there's no limit of posts you want to post each time you logging in.

What's fun about tumblr?

Dude, tumblr is your life. Tumblr is everything you need. Tumblr understands you and you love tumblr so much. Okay, I was talking about myself. So, from my own experience, these are the things that make me in love with tumblr.

#1 Tumblr is easy to post.

Those are the categories to choose when you're starting to make a new post. Text for you who want to post a story (you can add pictures too there), photo for you who want to upload your photos (they accept JPEG, GIF and BMP. You can take the picture first using webcam and even upload some pitctures and make a slide show), quote for you to post your favorite words from your idols, link to post an URL when you're going to share a cool site, chat to share conversations you just did or heard, audio to post your voices--songs or just yells are acceptable depends on your followers, and the last but not least, video to post a video from youtube or vimeo or other sites, or if you want to upload your own video you just recorded.

If you don't know what to post, you can see what people has posted and reblog it. Remember, it's reblog, not repost because tumblr has it own rules, dudes.

#2 Tumblr is where you can show your interests freely.

Are you interested in photography? Musics? Life Problems? Literatures? Movies? Fashions? Or any other things? Tumblr has everything for you! You can share your interests with people, and you'll find them as your followers. Then, you'll see that you're not alone because, actually, somewhere in this world, there is someone that love what you love. Find your truly community here on tumblr, they'll love you back, don't worry.

#3 You can reblog people's posts.

More way to post, you can do posting from email, you can record an audio by calling 1-866-584-6757 and post through AOL messenger system.

Anyway, tumblr has some merchandise which are uber cool, such as t-shirts and stickers. And you can promote your page by embed your blog, share on twitter or facebook.

#5 The words and the rules.

Where you can find 'jksdfhsdjkhfsdjk', 'hnnnngggg', 'forever alone', 'Y U NO' and more words anywhere but tumblr? Tumblr users has their own rules on saying and posting something which none of outsiders could understand.This is why tumblr is cool by it's own way.

Gadgets For The Eco-Warriors

Morning peeps! How ya doing this Sunday morning?

Mine is great by a livechat Aim For The Weekend did this morning. Me watched it with my friends and we did have fun singing some songs including Justin Bieber's Baby and dancing together (Chris Altice was dancing well, FYI).

Anyway, I was searching for eco-friendly gadgets at google and I found this website. This website show you cool gadgets for you who cared about environmental issues happening nowadays.
Some are my favorite and here I will tell you about the gadgets!

The cool thing is that you can learn about astronomy and construct the kit by yourself, even they give you opaque acrylic paints and paintbrush to paint each or the planet! Isn't that cool? And anyway, this kit also can teach the kids about solar energy, that's why it's an eco-friendly gadget.

First, I love the color. Second, this is the most eco-friendly gadget so far (read inside spoiler). Kudos kudos!!

All stuffs are being sold at the website. Check them and more stuffs on the web. I'm going to search about iPhone 4 and HCT android. Yep, that'll be the next post about :)

Face The Book And See What Yourself Has Done.

Good day, peeps!

I know everyone is now excited about Harry Potter 7 part 1. I used to want to watch that movie too, but seeing all cinemas are full with people trying their luck to get the ticket, I better stay here in front of PC and wait until I could get the ticket easily, teehee.

Anyway, before the great HP 7 happening now, there was a movie that everyone was also digging to watch it. Starring Justin Timberlake, who wouldn't want to watch it? :P
The movie is about one of social networking that happened to be popular in the earth, the story about the site's founder, Mark Zuckerberg. Now you know what site is we are talking about, right? ;)

Let's watch the trailer first!

To make a clarification here, I honestly haven't watch the movie yet because of too many things have to be done and more important then just going to cinema watching movie alone (yes, I sometimes watch movie alone). So that's why I can't tell you how many rate I should give to this movie, sorry.

Now, the main point is, what is facebook? What is it used for? What are the advantages and what are to bad sides of this social network?

Facebook is one of the most popular social network today. Firstly launched by the name 'Facemash' when Mark was on Sophomore year at Harvard university. At first, the site was only being used by friends and students at the school until the site expanded to other colleges in Boston area and finally are opened to everyone, everywhere, every ages.

On this site, users may create a personal profile, add other users as friends and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Additionally, users may join common interest user groups, organized by workplace, school, or college, or other characteristics. People also use facebook to make photo albums of events, and even to sell their products.
Everyone, should be including you, has their own facebook profile, don't you? Now, do you really get the advantages of using facebook?

Facebook should be the best way to meet people (friends, family, relatives, or else), the new or the old ones, on the net. You can find someone you have not seen for years or some new guys on facebook. There, you can easily communicate with your friends and share everything you have such as photos, videos, or more.
Facebook also great to promote something new you have on your life. You have a band? You have new job? You have new products to sell? Tell people on facebook and you may find people looking at things you shared.

Facebook are good to be updated daily. But what if you're getting addicted to this?

Some facts I found that people are getting too much into facebook. Times ago, facebook made some controversy. It has been blocked intermittently in several countries including Pakistan, Syria, the People's Republic of China, Vietnam, Iran, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh. It has also been banned at many places of work to discourage employees from wasting time using the service. Facebook's privacy has also been an issue, and the safety of their user accounts has been compromised several times. Facebook has settled a lawsuit regarding claims over source code and intellectual property.
In Indonesia, some criminal cases about abducting and deception were happened in facebook. That's caused by insecure people getting too much into facebook.
These facts could tell you that somehow facebook has bad effects to the users.

What I am going to tell here is, facebook is well-used for us to get more friends and to share your life on the net. But you also have to keep your own privacy and be safe and secure at what you do there. Facebook is fun, if you really take the advantages well and still have time to do more important things on the real world.

Think twice to do something on social networks and internet, people you might know here good wouldn't be as good as you've known on the real world. That's a fact ;)
